What Lies Behind Us
What Lies Before Us
Tiny Matters Compared To
What Lies Within Us

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.  He said, "My son,the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil.  It is anger, envy, jealousy, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good.  It is joy, peace, hope, love, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy,  generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?'
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

On November 9, 2013, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Family Justice Center's satellite office, located on North Forest Road in Williamsville. The Family Justice Center assists domestic violence victims and provides a safe "One-stop Shop" for those who need to traverse the legal system.  Clarence Rotarians worked to install a new concrete walkway, handicap ramp and rear door to provide a safe entrance.

At the Porsche Raffle Kickoff Party on Wednesday March 27, 2013, the Rotary Club of Clarence honored the Clarence Pizza Company for their years for continued support. Always there when we need them, owners Tim Smith (pictured above) and Rick Smith have routinely contributed to ensuring our events are well stocked with the best pizza, wings, and stuffed hot pepper bread in the Buffalo area.  Thanks to the Smiths for their support!

While most of us are not used to hearing those two words together, on Thursday April18th, Budfa (Sky) Morasuk touched down at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport on April 18, 2013.  Pictured above with President Ed Berowski and Keith Artis, Sky is our first Youth Exchange student in over 10 years.

During her stay, she will be participating in classes at Erie Community College and looking to sharpen her English speaking skills.

With assistance from the Rotary Club of Clarence and the Clarence Girls Softball League, a new scoreboard has been installed at the Clarence High School softball field and is ready for the 2013 season.  The ribbon cutting was held on Monday April 22nd prior to a game against Orchard Park, which Clarence won 2-1.

Congratulations to the varsity team's 2012 New York State Championship!!

In honor of the great presentation by Rachel Waddell at last Friday's Club Assembly, I though I would throw this old image, courtesy of Bob Artis from 2013.

From packed tents to presidential meals, Lobsterfest 2013 was a great success.  The sold out event was attended by 530 people.  Thanks to everyone who contributed to the event and congratulation to Lobsterfest Chairwoman Chrissy Casilio on a job well done!

If you would like to see pictures of the event, please follow the link below to our Facebook photo album.

The new playground is up at Memorial Park and our joint project with the Clarence Soccer Club and Clarence Baseball Club is complete.  Thanks to the hard work by Jim Burkard and the crew at the Clarence Parks Department, the work was completed before the end of the soccer season and kids are enjoying themselves.
